History on Tap is back!
Join the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County at our first History on Tap of 2020 at the Hopkinsville Brewing Company on Thursday, March 26 at 6:30pm. In honor of Women’s History Month and the centennial of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, we will discuss the Women’s Suffrage Movement and its impact locally.
Jennifer P. Brown, Alissa Keller, and Hillary Sullivan are joining forces to present on the Women’s Suffrage Movement. The three will talk about the movement as a whole – from its earliest supporters to the vote in Tennessee that made the ratification of the 19th Amendment a reality. They will also look at local players who supported the movement and how they made an impact on this community. Special attention will be paid to Mary Bronaugh, a local woman who outspokenly supported equal rights in the early 20th century.
