Go on a journey from Hopkinsville to Cincinnati to Niagara Falls and beyond! Museum Director Alissa Keller weaves the story of 10 local women who won a subscription contest in the Kentucky New Era in 1911. Their prize was a grand tour to some of the most beautiful places in the Northeast. Join us to learn all about this epic trip and about the women who took it. The story all starts with a photograph, but it takes us thousands of miles and to so many interesting locations.
Keller wrote about this adventure in her monthly series “Snapshots in Time” for Hoptown Chronicle. Stories are inspired by a historic photograph or by an artifact held in the collection at the Pennyroyal Area Museum.
History on Tap is a free series that seeks to share local history in a relaxed, fun setting. Programs are typically held on the last Thursday of the month at 6:30pm at Hopkinsville Brewing Company.
