History on Tap: Hopkinsville’s Pre-Prohibition Bar Scene
The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County is hosting our next History on Tap on a special day this month. Join us NEXT WEEK on Thursday, July 11 at 6:30pm at Hopkinsville Brewing Company to explore Hopkinsville’s Pre-Prohibition Bar Scene with HBC’s own Joey Medeiros.
Co-owner and co-brewer of Hopkinsville Brewing Company, Joey Medeiros recently graduated from Auburn University with his masters degree in Brewing Science & Operations. He shares much of the research he did for his culminating non-thesis on the beer scene in Hopkinsville and Christian County between 1850 and national Prohibition in 1920. If the yeast does its job, he will also unveil a new beer that was inspired by late 1800-early 1900 recipes.
August’s History on Tap will be on Thursday, August 29 and will be all about Hopkinsville in the 1910s.
History on Tap is a free series that seeks to share local history in a relaxed, fun setting. Programs are typically held on the last Thursday of the month at 6:30pm at Hopkinsville Brewing Company.
