Pyrography on Gourds

The goal of this class is to help introduce the art of pyrography on gourds, including tools to use, variety of gourds, techniques, finishing gourds, and favorite resources from the instructor.

*MEET THE PUMPKIN MAN
The Burned Gourd artist, Paul R. Buhrmester, is a self-taught pyrographer with a love of creating art with one of nature’s beautiful canvases, hard shell gourds! Each creation is hand drawn and burned utilizing pyrography, with various symmetrical pattern designs. Ornaments, necklaces, and bottle stoppers are created with pyrography and accenting color. Larger works, such as bowls and lamps, are created with pyrography, carving, cutting, and inlay of special pieces. It has been a privilege and an honor for him to continue the artistic journey of creating beautifully detailed creations with materials from nature.
