Live Music - Brady Adams

  • Hopkinsville Brewing Company 102 East 5th Street Hopkinsville, KY, 42240 (map)

When I was a kid, I rode in a big old RV from Ohio to Tennessee with an unnamed relative.  I'd pass him PBR's from the cooler while sitting on the floor playing cards (how did I survive that?)  We would listen to all of the old rockabilly and rock and roll classics like Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Richie Valens, and a lot of Elvis...so much Elvis, just wow, a lot of Elvis.

Later I started playing guitar and singing.  I played what I thought was cool and what my friends told me was cool. Then it hit me really hard.  I saw The Stray Cats on MTV. Who else could play those riffs without hiding behind loads of distortion?  Well, Brian Setzer, that's who!  All of the old songs from my single digit years came flooding back to me in my teen years.  I immediately called my highschool band mates and begged them to play rockabilly.  Unfortunately, they said no.  Later in life, around my mid-way point in the Air Force, I decided I was definitely a rockabilly guy, that's what I do and that's who I am (as a musician.)  Life is multi-faceted so come on people, there is more to life than that.

I moved from place to place while I was in the USAF playing little gigs and jamming with friends. Then one fine day I joined a real rockabilly band in Texas.  I left the service and moved to GA where I started another rockabilly band.  Then I moved to TN and started yet another rockabilly band.

That brings us to now.  It's American Rock and Roll and that's about it.
